The thesis aims to explore how Transnational Corporations adjust their investment strategies in China and amplify their investments in the context of China's accession into WTO by analyzing the newest trends and developing strategies of modern TNCs , combining with the current situation of TNCs' investments in China and the implication exerted by China's WTO membership on China's investment environment. The thesis also advances some preliminary suggestions on some countermeasures China should adopt to absorb foreign investments. There are altogether five chapters.Chapter One discusses TNCs' development situation worldwide. It analyzes six newest developing tendencies of TNCs and nine kinds of developing strategies the TNCs adopt to adapt new environments and increase competitiveness.Chapter two introduces four stages TNCs experienced with their development in China, analyzes the influences of TNCs' investments on China's economy which are both advantageous and disadvantageous. It points out that the advantages exceed the disadvantages on the whole. Besides, it introduces the accessing mode and growing strategies of TNCs' investments in China.Chapter Three highlights the influences exerted by China's WTO membership on its investment environment. Firstly, the thesis analyzes the current investment environment and introduces the main contents and effects of 4 WTO agreements related to investment. Then, combining with some industries which are facing great challenges brought by China's WTO commitments, it analyzes these industries' developing status and its implication on TNCs' investment in China.Chapter Four firstly explains the factors for TNCs instituting investment strategies in China. It then points out that TNCs should grasp the opportunities, pay closer attention to Chinese market, study Chinese government's new strategies and policies and accelerate their adjustments toward investment strategies in China. It also brings forward some investment strategies TNCs should take after examining their current investment situation in China.Chapter Five discusses some countermeasures China should take to respond to the new changes in TNCs' investment polices. It points out that China, by holding a correct attitude towards the implications brought by TNCs' investment, should seize the opportunity and constitute corresponding policies to better absorb TNCs' investment in China.
