On The Reform And Opening Up Urban And Rural Social Structure Change And The Change Of Household Registration System

After the Third Plenary Session of the Thirteenth Central Committee of the Party, the population registration system in the dualistic urban-suburban social structure with Chinese characteristics has undergone according changes with the gradual unfolding of reform and opening to the outside. To one who has real concern for the problems of china, the unique dualistic structure and its changes are indispensable.This thesis falls into four parts. One: the institution of the population registration system before the Third Plenary Session of the Thirteenth Central Committee of the Party and the formation of the dualistic social structure. Two: changes in the dualistic urban-suburban social structure and the elementary reform of the population registration system. Three: the fixing of the objective of Chinese market economy system and the further reform of the population registration system. Four: several advise for the reform of the population registration system with a view to advancing the process of urbanization.Undoubtedly, opening to the outside has had enormous impact on the dualistic urban-suburban social structure, and the population registration system reform has been carried out forcefully. Whereas, since the past population registration system had too much additional interest attached, even the smallest touch of one part of the system will surely affect the whole; its intense relevance and high complication cause many practical problems, and may trigger further syndromes. So the author tries, on the basis of investigating the interaction of the dualistic urban-suburban social structure and the population registration system, to make his due contribution to the advancement of the reform of the population registration system and quickening up the process of urbanization and the integration of cities and countries.
