Enterprises and nonprofit organizations tend to become network organizations recently. In the real economy, enterprise group, strategic alliance, virtual corporation, cluster are all the specific forms of network organization (NO). These forms, consisting in the newly-developing industries and traditional industries, organizationally facilitate inside efficiency to the greatest extent.The thesis devotes to disserting the mechanism of network organization by digging into the NO' s dynamical mechanism, management and governance. It includes five chapters. The first chapter discusses the definition of network organization and presents its specific forms to build a concrete and mutual base for the whole thesis. The second chapter analyzes the background of the appearance of network organization, and discloses the economical and management reason why network organization spread rapidly from the angles of transaction cost, core competence and strategic alliance. The third chapter focuses on the strategic and operational management of network organization, addressing the different conception about competition and strategy between network organization and hierarchical organization, discussing its value chain management. Beginning with the governance of hierarchical organization, the forth chapter contrasts network organization with hierarchical organization in the objectives, methods and environment of governance, and puts up with a governance model of network organization. The fifth chapter is about a case of network organization in the marketing channel. Analyzing the main points of the profound channel in the view of network organization, this chapter deeply clarifies the operational characteristics of network organization in real economy.
