Financial analysis and evaluation is an important part of modern petroleumenterprise's financial management, is objectively needed for setting up modern petroleum enterprise's financial system. So modern petroleum enterprise must pay attention to research and application of financial analysis and evaluation theory and methods.Since 1955, the related Ministries of the State Council has promulgated << Enterprise Economic Performance Evaluation Targets System>> and << Enterprise Achievement Evaluation Targets System>>, which preliminarily set up the financial analysis and evaluation system for China's enterprises. Petroleum enterprises should design a set of financial analysis and evaluation targets system objectively and justly reacting enterprise's financial situation by combining their own management characteristics with these targets system. But for subjective and objective reasons, China's petroleum enterprises have only paid enough attention to accounting instead of financial analysis and evaluation in practice, so that our financial analysis and evaluation level is far behind that of international petroleum enterprises.This paper gives a relatively complete and systematic introduction to the basic theory and method of financial analysis and evaluation from the point of view of its significance, purpose, contents, method, environment and so on. It derives the feature of the financial analysis and evaluation of petroleum enterprises from the characteristics of the production and operation of petroleum enterprises, and uses the financial reporting data of Daqing Oil Field in recent 2 or 3 years to discuss the application of the Basic theory and method of financial analysis and evaluation in Daqing Oil Field, which includes repaying ability, operating ability, gaining ability, developing ability, as well as the comprehensive analysis and evaluation of financial position. At last, the paper diagnoses the existing problems and puts forward constructive suggestions according to the present situation of the financial analysis and evaluation work of Daqing Oil Field.
