Titled as analysis of the key elements in Russia's foreign policy, this article has more than thirty thousand words and is divided by four chapters. Respectively from the aspects of geography, culture, security and domestic reality, the four chapters discuss how Russia's foreign policy is influenced.Based on the history of Russia's development and the dometic and international situation, the article conducts a thorough analysis of the four different elements in making and carrying out foreign policy and finds out how the foreign policy haschanged. For centuries, Eurasia has been the world's geopolitic center and the stage for major powers' activities. Russia's geographic position has played its unique adavantage, howerver at the same time, it also poses concerns from various places to the policy makers. Russia's foreign policy keeps changing with its geographic gain or loss. Russian culutre, since it is a mixture of East and West culture, decides Russian people's different life phylosophy and social value and directly influences the foreign policy. This article tries to explore Russian culture and illustrate the interaction between Russian culture and its foreign policy. Russia's military security is one important consideration for the country. Russia's military idea of adapting to the concrede situation, as used in its exploring the frontiers, consolidating its empire, and nowdays recovering its status as a superpower, plays a significant role in directing its foreign policy decision. Russia's foreign policy is based on the principle of balancing its aim with the possiblity for that aim, therefore Russia's foreign policy is always withheld by its economic performance.
