Study Of The Development Of Smes In Sichuan Province

The trend of the world economic development is not from free rival to monopoly as Karl.Marx predicted. Small-medium enterprise is still active in the economic development. After the establishment of socialist market economy system, small-medium in China is greatly increasing and becoming important part of the national economy. The fact that China entered WTO and develops the west brings opportunity and challenge to small-medium enterprise development in Sichuan province. Since the definition of small-medium enterprise is different at different economic stages, this thesis discusses the process of the definition and the definition that is being used now. The existence and development of small-medium enterprise is base on many theories, such as theory of economic evolution, theory of scale economy, theory of incomplete market, theory of social work division, theory of productive force development, etc. These theories suggest that small-medium enterprise is necessary in the economic development from many aspects. The development of small-medium enterprise in Sichuan province is helpful to promote economy growth, narrow difference between districts, decrease unemployment, activate market, accelerate the adjustment of economic structure in rural and enhance the competition ability of big enterprise. Based on the present conditions and developing trend of small-medium enterprise in Sichuan province, this thesis points out many problems existed in its development, including macro-environment, government system, composition of industry and structure of organization, capital, competition ability, development impetus and other problems. By studying the experience from developed countries, this thesis provides many policy suggestions to promote small-medium enterprise to develop.
