With the upcoming of knowledge-based economy, the environment for enterprises has changed magnificently. Science and technology advances with each passing day. Lifecycle of products becomes shorter and shorter. Under such circumstances, staff's initiative, enthusiasm and creativeness become the decisive factors for enterprises in competition. The HRD and HRM are becoming more and more vital for enterprises for success. And the globalization of the world economy and fierce competition in the marketplace has forced enterprises to gradually shift its management mode from traditional personnel management to modern human resource management, even to strategic human resource management. The paper is divided in the five chapters.Chapter One puts forward the concept and theory of HRM and analyzes the differences between traditional personnel management and human resource management. And it also elaborates the strategies for the enterprise's HRM and its strategic goals and measures of human resource development.Chapter Two analyzes the development of U.S. and Japanese HRM. HRM systems of enterprises of these two countries have their own characteristics. Both systems have brought significant benefits to the respective enterprises. Chinese enterprises can gain some enlightenment from their experience.Chapter Three focuses on mainly discussing the necessity for Insurance Company A establishing modern human resource management system.Based on the above analysis and comparison, Chapter Four comprehensively expounds Insurance Company A's existing problems in the human resource management system and describes the process of the HRM reform, and the basic characteristics of human resource management mode after the reform.This chapter explains in six aspects how Insurance Company A renovates and establishes its human resource management system with advanced concepts and instruments of human resource management. Chapter Five discusses new challenges brought about by knowledge-based economy to the human resource management of Insurance Company A and puts forward corresponding measures against the challenges.
