The thought of Deng Xiaoping's Unbalanced Economical Development formed and developmed by Deng Xiaoping while he explored what socialism is and how to build socialism. Deng Xiaoping pondered over China's problem dialectically, borrowed the related theory from Western Economics, absorbed the essence of the works by classical Marxist-Leninism writers, and combined the thought with China's factual situation. The research on this thought can at first enable people deepen the understanding about the source, development, intention and characteristics of it . Second, this research confirms that the present macro-economic system and operational mechanism are suitable and reasonable. Third, it can provide the afterward economic construction with new theory.This article is composed by four parts.Part One discusses the source of Deng Xiaoping's thought on unbalanced economical development.1. Rarfel's unbalance theory and Hillman's unbalanced increase theory provided theoretical reference.2. Classical Marxist writers' dialectical ideas about balance and unbalance provided the theoretical source and philosophical basis.3. Deng Xiaoping's thought on unbalanced economical development covers the economic setup; developing strategy; basic economic system during the period of socialist primary stage.Part Two expounds the development of Deng Xiaoping's thought on unbalanced economical development.1. Peace and development is the era background for the forming of Deng Xiaoping's thought on unbalanced economical development, while the lessens and experiences after the founding the Republic of China is the historical background.2.Deng Xiaoping's thought on unbalanced economical development was put forward to at the beginning of reform and opening up anddeveloped during the process of reform and opening up.3. Deng Xiaoping's thought on unbalanced economical development was fully developed after 1992 and was perfected especially by the third leading generation headed by Jiang Zemin.Part Three analyzes the concrete embodiment of Deng Xiaoping's thought on unbalanced economical development.The first point discusses the unbalance of economic operation in the following aspects: unbalanced economy in terms of space (regional economy); industry developing policy (selective development of the basic industry); economic development in terms of speed ( jumping- over development); economic development in terms of time (the three steps strategy).The second point discusses the unbalance of the basic economic system in light of the adjustment of the present economic structure and the breakthrough of the distribution system, that is setting up the ownership structure that dominated by public ownership together with the simultaneous development of various forms of ownership; taking the system of "to each according to his work" as the main method of allocating income while coexist other distribution methods.Through the analysis on the three points of the nature of socialism, the judgement on the nature of socialism was proved and Deng Xiaoping's thoughting on unbhalanced economical development was further reflected.Part Four summarizes the characteristics and significance of Deng Xiaoping's thought on unbalanced economical development1. The thought is foresighted, practical, dialectical and creative.2. The significance of the thought is as follows: First, the thought enriches and develops Marxist Political Economy. Second, the theory promotes the freeing of people's mind.3. The thought eliminates some misunderstandings.4.The thought provides new train of thinking for the economic theory. 5. The thought provides basis for our economic construction.
