Study Of Project Management In The Metropolitan Area In The Demonstration Project

As an important branch of management science, project management has influenced every walk of life and with the development of itself, it has contributed much to management practice. In now project age, project management is not only guaranteeing the success of large, complicated project, but has been an important form by which the enterprises of new century execute organization and management.The article takes a main project of China Seism Bureau in its 'ninth five-year-plan', Capital Demonstration Project, as the specimen. By employing the theory and research tools of project management, this paper diagnoses the project, analyses it from several basic aspects of project management theory, and then concludes its experience and significance.Empirical research, besides theoretical analysis, is used in this thesis. Focusing on the special management means of the project and associating with theory and technique of scrutiny, article discussed the necessity and feasibility to apply the project management in operation of national key projects.The thesis composed of four parts. The first one discusses the background, goal, assignment and actual construction of the project. The next one shows the author's own opinions toward project theory, including how to define and differentiate project and project management. The third part analyses the project from eight aspects of project management body of knowledge, which are scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, human resource management, communication management and procurement management. The last part of the paper draws a conclusion on the basis of diagnosing the completing stage of the project.
