Conversion Project Of Ship Research Strategic Alliance Benefit Analysis

Our country's military industry institutes proceed the work of defence industry conversion (the conversion of military resources to civilian fields) directed by strategic policy of "unity of military and civilian industry", and acquire very great success. In the new historical period, it's a great subject of our country's defence industry conversion mission how to strengthen military industry institutes' conversion work, industrialize defence industry conversion projects of those institutes, finally engender realistic productivity and produce economy benefit. This paper analyses the case firstly, studies enterprises strategic alliances' practice in defence industry conversion projects of military industry institutes by using the theory of enterprises strategic alliances. The motivation and benefit of building strategic alliances are analyzed profoundly using factual cases. The paper discusses some problems such as building, managing and developing of strategic alliances of military industry institutes, considers that strategic alliances are effective path to take the advantage of those institutes and realize military product's industrialization.In chapter 1 the factual case is introduced. In chapter 2 the development and theory basis of enterprises strategic alliances are reviewed. The theory of the strategic alliances is analyzed from three aspects of exchange expense, value chain and complementarity of assets. In chapter 3 using the basic theory of enterprises strategic alliances and factual cases of defence industry conversion work, military institutes' motivation and benefit of building strategic alliances of defence industry conversion projects are analyzed. By studying technology effect, scale economy effect and low adventure entry, the paper considers that military industry institutes' strategic alliances can take the advantage of those institutes, realize mutual complement of advantage, force alliances members to study and blend each other in the aspect of kernel speciality, gather effectively the power of research and development, advance the level of technology innovation. The strategic alliances can overcome the disadvantage of military industry institutes, realize rapidly the scale economy of defence industry conversion projects, at the same time don't enlarge the enterprises' scale. It can break effectually through entry obstacle and reduce the venture of high technology industry. In chapter 4 and 5 several noteworthy questions are discussed about building defence industry conversion projects and managing strategic alliances. Finally, by the above analyses, the conclusion is achieved that enterprises strategic alliances are effective method to industrialize rapidly the defence industry conversion projects of military institutes and enlarge those projects' scale.
