Thermal Power Enterprise Strategic Choice And Bidding Strategies

Power industry is a fundamental industry in the national economy. High efficient and reliable power industry had a serious effect on other industries' fast developing. With the merging of the system of power market in China, power plants were faced with a serious challenge.The paper first generalized other developed countries' power market models, features and lessons. According to the reform experience of thermal power plant and situation of our country, two important problems that the power plant had to be confronted with are also stated from the aspect of thermal power plant. That was how to choose the development strategy, and which tactics should be used in bidding for access to power networks.For the thermal power plant's choices of development strategy, the real situation of power market and power plants in China at present was considered in the paper. The paper pointed out national power policy, barrier of entering in or dropping out power industry, position of the power plant and all these factors which were important to power plant for choosing its strategy in transferring from demand economy to marketing economy. The power plants are classified by its situation, and given its suitable strategic models, which were low-cost strategy, diversification strategy, readjustment strategy and liquidation strategy.Choosing for the bidding strategy for accessing to power networks, The paper analyzes the methods of sharing power costs and its influence of electricity price. The goal of the power market and the feature of the power plant in producing and selling were also considered. The bidding strategy modals were posed based on cost, forecast, contract and so on. Through the case of a thermal power plant that the bidding strategies were used in practice, The problems of simplified and remolded theory modals were resolved in application.The connection of the method to Management Information System (MIS) in the power plant was also preliminary studied in the paper. All the study of the bidding strategies in this paper had justified the three kinds of modals, which can give the scientific and effective guidance to decide the electricity price of accessing to power networks.
