The article is based on the third sector theory which has been greatly developed since 1970s in the world. The main topic of the artic is focused on the development of the third sector in China. The article gives the third sector a clear definition first, and then analyzed the third sector' s advantage and limitation. Since the Reform and Opening to the Outside World , the third sector in China have undergone an unprecedented development. However, up till now, people are lack of a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the third sector in China due to some objective reasons. There also have some other reasons which baffled the development of China' s third sector. During the changing period of society, the third sector' s development needs the government and the third sector it self s more effort.
