Nowadays numerous small and medium sized IT companies are confronted with the dilemma that tries to cope with the conflict between rapidly growth in businesses and limited resources. How to accomplish more projects favorably with resources in existence has become a challenging task for every project manager. Multiple projects management (MPM) is just a new solution, which aims at managing a group of projects with similar specialty instead of single project. It fully takes advantage of projects' relativities and puts emphases on schedule arrangement and resources distribution among the projects, and ultimately achieves the goal of resources optimization.System Integration (SI) is a kind of comprehensive project comprising R&D, CRM and PM. Because of its complex of multiple specialties, unstableness of technology and uncertainty in demand, SI project needs to be managed in a more innovative way in which managers must pay special attention to variables like user's likes, technical environment and project itself. Willfar Co introduced MPM in its 5 SI projects in Guangdong province, with the purpose of solving the problem of lacking of enough experienced staff. They realized the aim successfully through well-designed planning and scientific command.The paper studies problems existed widely in projects management of small and medium sized IT companies and tries to find out an effective way to handle the contradiction involved resources and growth. Firstly the Author presents a brief introduction of characteristics and significance of MPM. Then, he defines some necessary conditions that ensure MPM to succeed in SI projects. He deems that MPM must be operated differently according to concrete projects. In the end, he gives a roundly explanation of how MPM works in Guangdong SI projects. In the example of Guangdong projects, three major approaches, including reconstruction of organization, network techniques optimization and building MPM mechanism, are explicated in details. The results obtained in the paper not only verify the feasibility and validity of MPM, but also provide a valuable reference to other small and medium sized IT companies with same background and same problems.
