Urbanization On Economic Growth, Promote The Role Of Economics Analysis

This thesis is on the theoretical aspect of urbanization. After the research and disputation on urbanization during the last 20 years, it is accorded that the urbanization of China is at the low level. But the research work on the relation between urbanization and economic growth is not sufficient enough. This thesis discusses the relation between urbanization and economic growth systematically, on the basis of macroeconomics, microeconomics and philosophy.The thesis consists of five chapters:The first chapter begins with a brief introduction to the urbanization, and explains the relation between urbanization and industrialization. After that the basic theory of the promotion of urbanization to economic growth is given.The second chapter analyzes by the methods of macroeconomics. It begins with the function describing the relation between urbanization and economic growth, after that the elasticity function is deduced. After that regression analysis is used basing on the data of the world and China, then we get the numerical value of the elasticity. The thesis expatiates the relation through the function.The third chapter analyzes the relation by the methods of microeconomics. The core of microeconomics is the action of competition and pricing, and the people (labor force) as one of the most important elements must of course obey the rule of competition and pricing. So this chapter begins with the competition of cities, and especially people (labor force) in the competition of city and country. The conclusion is drawn that competition and pricing can promote the efficiency of the urbanization, so as to the economic growth.The forth chapter analyses the connotation of urbanization, and point out that it includes substantive urbanization and psychic urbanization. Then it elaborates that substantive urbanization is the foundation and psychic urbanization is the kernel of urbanization. The characters of the psychic urbanization are discussed tentatively.The last section draws the conclusion that psychic urbanization is the essential and the objective of Chinese urbanization.The fifth chapter gives some policy suggestions on promoting urbanization of China.
