As a quick growing industrial, pharmaceutical market attracted more and more competitors' entry in China. In order to be a winner, pharmaceutical company needs to know how to collect information to support their business decisions. Marketing research will provide enough data to do it.But in China, there are few companies know marketing research and its methodology. Many managers would like to spend lots of many to do advertisement than research. They consider marketing research won't take profits to their sales directly. Why will they cost for research?In this article, I will discuss it. In fact, marketing research will take many values to companies' business decisions to overcome their competitors. In R&D period, product selection period, pre-launch period, after-launch period, symptoms expansions and Rx-OTC change and so on for pharmaceutical products, company can find marketing research will do good work. From 4 cases analysis, you can get experiences about the true usage of marketing research. No matter the research objectives are questions finding and resolving, you can know marketing research can do better.I have to say that marketing research for pharmaceutical market has its special characters, including its research respondents, research rules, research methodology and working people, which is very different with general customer research. To know it clearly, company can select exact and effective marketing research to help their decision making.I do hope marketing research will have a good development in serve to pharmaceutical market like to FMCG. But it just begins for pharmaceutical companies to know its contributions. We need to provide more successful research, and more knowledge for them to know marketing research. And in not faraway future, pharmaceutical market in China will follow international market to depend on marketing research deeply. For that objective, I would like to share my experiences with more persons.
