Since the Great War Two, international trade has achieved great development and the form of international trade has also changed greatly. The processing trade gradually becomes an important trade method of joining the international community. Processing trade will be the mainstream of international trade.Along with the accomplishment of the Opening and Reform Policy, China processing trade began to develop in 1978.Nowadays, the amount of processing trade has accounted for the half of China foreign trade and it has become the leading mode in China foreign trade. China is becoming the "The workshop of the world", in this background, our country should draw the lessons of other countries in processing trade and link the reality of China to reconsider and reform it.The thesis is made up of six chapters.The first chapter deals with the definition of processing trade and the main features of world processing trade.The second chapter researches that with the background of economy globalization, the traditional industrialization strategies of the developing country are faced with the challenges, but also faced with opportunities. At last it draws the conclusion that processing trade can be the new choice of the developing countries.The third chapter looks back upon the different stages of China processing trade, introduces the policy system and the reality of China processing trade.The fourth chapter researches the developmental modes of Japan, Korea and Taiwan.The fifth chapter analyses the main supervision modes of processing trade in the world and the problems in the supervision of China processing trade.The sixth chapter analyses the economical results of processing trade policies in different areas, then researches the urgency and the possibility ofChina processing trade transforming to the central and western regions. At last, analyses the advantages and disadvantages in developing processing trade for the central and western regions and gives the pieces of suggestion.
