Theory Of World History As The Domain Of Globalization And Contemporary Chinese Development

Marx's theory of world history is an organic part of Marx's doctrine. It uses the similar ideological essentials for reference from the special angle of view as its whole. These essentials are mainly included in Smith, Ricardo and Mill's theory of international trade in Britain, List's theory of tariff protection in Germany, three Utopian socialists' talented envision of future society in Britain and France, the French historians' thought of class struggle during Restoration period and Hegel's thought of world history. It is certainly that Marx unified these essentials from the view of historical materialism, which resulted in the great theoretical revolution of the theory of world history. Based on it, Marx made a further illustration of many aspects, such as world history's significance and character, origin and trend, drive and dimension, measure of value and way of development, provided us a powerful theoretical weapon of analyzing the realities. The contemporary globalization has shown some new characteristics in economy, politics and people's view of value, as far as its nature is concerned, it's still in the vision of Marx's theory of world history. The development of China nowadays is also in the background of world history, facing the contradictory choice between modernization and westernization just as that of modern China. It enlightens us that we should not only learn from the West, but also enlarge the great national tradition of our own, meanwhile combine both and make them keep pace with times. So, my paper tries to take "the building of a well-off society in an all-round way" as an incisive point, firstly make a clear explanation of Chinese traditional thought of "the well-off "and "the Great Harmony", secondly embody the reference and creation of "the building of well-off society in an all-round way" against tradition by comparison, finally explore the basic foundation of these reference and creation in order to exhibit the vision of Marx's theory of world history through the historical choice of the development of China nowadays.
