China Export Commodity Structure Of Foreign Direct Investment

In our country, the composition of export commodity had advanced gradually since the opening of China's economy. Especially since 1990s', the optimization of export commodity composition has sped up. FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) plays a vital role in accelerating the improvement of export commodity composition. First, this paper discusses the export performance of the FDI firms and its effects on our country's export commodity composition. Then, it focuses on the analysis of different effects that FDI from different countries brings on our export composition, the technology spillover of FDI and the improvement to our domestic industrial structure, both of which are very positive to the optimization of our export composition. After the access to WTO, the aim, field and mode of FDI changes, which brings a series of changes to our export composition accordingly. Finally it concludes: with the globalization of world economy, FDI is a valuable factor to the promotion of our export commodity composition. On one hand, we should make full use of FDI, on the other hand, we should never neglect the fostering of our own competence. Meanwhile, the government is in the position to make policy to lead FDI to serve our economy better.
