Spatial Structure Of Regional Tourism System: Factor Analysis And Optimization - A Case Study Of Xi'an

Spatial structure of tourism system in this paper refers to the gathering level and state generated from spatial interaction of tourism economic objects, which embodies the spatial attribution and relationship of tourism activity, just as a key indicator of regional tourism development state. To master the spatial structure characters and conceive the spatial structure mode is very important to give the key answers in the development of tourism destinations, which also contribute to the rationalization of spatial structure and its distribution.Based on the analysis of spatial structure mode and destination belt mode, 6 components on spatial elements about spatial structure of regional tourism system are extracted, taking Xi'an for example, these factors are studied.Based on the definition of "one day tourism circle", the extension of tourism destination district of Xi'an is defined; According to the law of districts difference, concerning the flexibilities of transportation and administration, the TDD are divided; The spatial characters of tourism nodes are measured by using the nearest spots index and disperse degree; The utilization of tourist routes are measured by using Lorenz Curve and Gini Coefficient; The status of Xi'an TDD in large scale is depicted and the gateway is confirmed by using spatial topology, the reason is explained by using Location Theory; At last, the structure of origin market are analyzed respectively by using the mode of market area.At last, problems and developing mechanism of the elements are summarized; the optimized spatial structure and the developing model of Xi'an tourism system are designed.Conclusions of this paper can be summarized as follow:1.The radius of TDD of Xi'an is within 250km, which constrained by the topography and transportation. The structure of TDD is irregular and forms an ellipse spatial structure. Tourism routes system of destination districts largely depends on external transport system, the utilization of routes from west to east is more often than the north and south.2.Tourism resources in Xi'an TDD is agglomerated, which is advantageous to organize the tourism routes, but it is disadvantages to reduce the time tourists spent in the destination, which would cut down the tourism income. Gradually. TDD of Xi'an can be divided into 9 distinctive tourism areas, these areas generally distributes along the railway and XI-HUANG highway as a "T" pattern is formed. The phenomena of spatial segmentation is obvious, the interrupting and hindering among these districts are so strong that the economical benefits are reduced with the distance increase from cities gradually.3.The domestic market of Xi'an TDD declined apparently with the increase of distance. The major domestic market objects are the provinces of southeastern China and those adjacent ones to Shannxi. The traditional international origin markets include Japan, America and Europe, the share of south-eastern Asia grows rapidly in recent years. As a gateway of TDD, the ideology to conform to international standard is deficient; the new conception of designing the image and outdoor recreation system is particularly needed.4.The development of TDD of Xi'an can be deemed to be a radicalization model, however, the ideal model should be expanding model, that means tourism activity should be expanded to northern part as well as to south in Shannxi.
