With the development of economy in our country, logistics should be paid more attention to. When we develop the logistics, we are faced with a common problem-how to determine the best location of logistics distribution center(DC). Inlogistics network, DC connects the supplier to the consumer and is the bridge between the two. It is highly important of the DC in the whole logistics system. So the location of logistics has an important impact on the effect of logistics system and the improvement of economic effect. The best location is the place that makes the effect of the process of collecting, transferring, distributing, and transporting to the consumer through DC best. There are so many buildings and fixed equipment in DC. So if the DC has been built, it hardly can be removed. It will pay more cost to the wrong location of DC in the long term. So how to determine the location of the DC is the important problem in the DC planning and needs a systemic and all-around arrangement. In this paper, optimizing location of DC is studied and a bi-level programming model and a genetic algorithm are applied to optimizing the location of DC. The bi-level programming model has two levels of objective functions which describetwo different object of two different decision-maker-the DC location planner andthe consumer. This model also describes the problem of the selection of the consumers after DC being built. The model in this paper is more practical. The contents of this paper are listed as following:Introduction, in this part, the background, the purpose, the significance and the study method of this paper are introduced.Chapterl, in this part some definitions on logistics, supply chain, supply chain management and DC are introduced; and the role of DC in logistics, logistics management, supply chain and supply chain management are expatiated on.Chapter2, in this part the classification of DC location problems and the solution of DC location problems are expatiated on; and the shortcomings of the solution used commonly are pointed out.Chapters, in this part the factors influencing location of DC are analyzed; andbased on summing up basic principles of locating DC, the principles of determining the location of DC under the supply chain are further explained.Chapter4, in this part a bi-level programming model and solution algorithm are given; and a genetic algorithm and a basic process to solute the bi-level programming model by GAOT toolbox of MATLAB are put forwards.Chapters, in this part the bi-level programming model and its algorithm are applies to a practical example to prove the model and its algorithm feasible.Chapters, this part summarizes this paper and brings forward some aspects that can be researched in future.Yang Liu (Transport Planning and Management) Directed by: Associate Prof. Wang Zheng...
