General Technology Group To The Transformation Of Supply Chain Management Research

With integration and development of domestic and international market, traditional international trade companies today conera more and more about how to transfer their business and improve core competence. As a leading state-owned international trade group, Genertec innovates its supply chain management to adapt to its resource endowment and the development of world market.To meet customer demands, companies have been innovating new managerial technologies and tactics such as Economic Production Quantity, Safty Inventory, Just-In-Time, Lean Production, Flexible Manufacturing System, Total Quality Managent, etc. since 1960's. In 1990's, to improve efficiency and optimize resource allocation, companies became to outsource some business such as designing, purchasing, manufacturing, shipping and selling to many specialized companies, that leads to emergence of the concept of supply chain(SC) and supply chain management(SCM).Chapter 1 of the essay describes situation of export business of Genertec and problems it is facing, which leads to idea of commodity supply chain management and strategy of business transfer.In Chapter 2, the author introduces the theory of SC and SCM, as well as types of SCM, trying to apply them to the SC and SCM of Genertec. In Chapter 3, the author further studies models of SC and SCM in term of international trade, emphasizes the importance of SC transfer to Genertec as a specialized international trade company.In Chapter 4, the author brings proposals of SCM transferring in Genertec, illustrates Genertec's external clients analysis, targeting, resource endowment, action plan and necessary terms. At the same time, the author points out the existing problems in operation of SCM in Genertec and provides ways of solution.As a trade oriented enterprise, Genertec plays an important role in import and export business in internal and external machinery and electronic instrument market. After transferring its SCM, Genertec will be able to make full use of its traditional advantages in international trade, enter more value chains of commodity flow. It will also improve its effeciency and abilities of flexibly controlling the direction of flow of information, material and capital, as well as abilities of research and design, marketing, supply chain organization management, quality control, logistic management and financing operation.To sum up, the author tries to analyze the market, apply the theory of SC and SCM learned in the production operating management course to real cases of Genertec.The author really appreciates great support from Professor Zhang Jie of UIBE.
