Along with the progress of enterprise information process, all kinds of enterprise information systems (EIS) are showing up, and the data amount of enterprise is increasing intensely. The different EIS is for certain different business purpose, but these enterprise information systems are created separately and there is no interaction each other. So each EIS has its own GUI, data source can not be shared, at the same time it may cause the problems of data integrity. All these things bring a lot of troubles to the information acquisition and prevent the enterprise from high speed development. Therefore, the enterprise information portal (EIP) is raised as a new concept. What's the advantage of EIP? In brief, it can solve the problem of information acquisition and make all the enterprise information systems work cooperatively.Firstly, this paper shows the concept of EIP and the research significance of EIP; Secondly, it shows the architecture of EIP and the related core technology, such as the technology of single access, application integration and information security; Thirdly, it introduces the popular technology for the construction of application framework, such as J2EE, .NET architecture, MVC framework, COM and so on. It also refers to some technologies about EAI: Web Services, JCA and JMS. With the application of above theories and technologies, there's a set of solutions about EIP put forward in this paper. It refers to many respects of contents such as communication, display, content management, system integration, resource management and security management. This solution provides methods to integrate the OA system, HR system, MIS system, Workflow, E-Report and WAP into the EIP successfully, and makes them work cooperatively and efficiently. Meanwhile this paper introduces the design and construction of applied framework in detail. The framework is based on J2EE platform, and it adopts MVC design mode. The whole system is developed based on Struts. XML, JMS and Workflow technologies are adopted to actualize interface definition and business integration among systems. Besides the successful design of EIP, creativity on authentication, authority and data integration is also shown in this paper. The session share mothod, authentication strategy server and authentication database are put forward to solve the problem of unified access to the EIS systems. A model of data exchange center is brought forward to deal with the problems of data communication and integration. Most portal products only provide simple user interface to access multiple systemsnow. Portal products in future will become multifunctional, combined and powerful platform. From the anticipation at the end of the paper, we can see that the new generation of EIP products will evolve towards centralization, integration, standardization and ecommerce.The capability and competence of a company lie on the self-contained and scientific business flow which keeps the company running. Although most EIP products have the similar architecture, it is recommended that the EIP solution this paper supply is used for reference only in the same industry. Since the business flow is very different among different industries.
