Private enterprises are focused increasingly for it's rapid development and it's important role in the economy development. An empirical research is drawn in this study focused on individual intrapreneurial behavior in private enterprises on the basis of the previous researches, considering the context of Chinese culture. The dissertation discussed the requirements of improving levels of individual intrapreneurship in perspective of organizational factors and human resource strategy. Besides, it also discussed relationship between intrapreneurial behaviors and entrepreneurial performance.The whole research process included two stages. The first stage covered interview and case study, which mainly aimed at testing the original approach, while laying foundation for subsequent empirical study. The second stage, 200 employees from 39 different enterprises were surveyed through questionnaires. The conclusions indicated that: 1) Individual intrapreneurial behaviors in private enterprises can be measured in three dimensions: cooperation and learning, innovation and initiative, responsibility and owners. Intrapreneurial behaviors have significant positive effects on entrepreneurial performance. 2) Human resource strategy, in particular the facilitation HR, has overall positive effects on Intrapreneurial behaviors. 3) Organizational factors can be measured in four dimensions: management support, reward/reinforcement,organizational boundaries, and time availability. 4) Organizational factors have positive effects on intrapreneurial behaviors. 5) Firm development stage has significant interaction impact between human resource strategy and intrapreneurial behaviors. 6) There are a significant difference in intrapreneurial behaviors and characteristics of organizational factors between different developmental stages, while there are no significant difference in intrapreneurial behaviors and entrepreneurial performance across different sized firms.
