Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) is a strategy which takes environmental factors into consideration when managing the supply chain. It aims to maximize the overall environmental profit through both inter-cooperations among different sections of an enterprise and intra-cooperations between upstream and downstream enterprises in the supply chain during the process of product design, material selection, manufacturing, sales and product recovery. Through this way, both environmental and economic performances of the enterprises can be improved and therefore the sustainable development is realized. At present, whether GSCM can promote environmental performance of an enterprise while optimizing its economic profit is still a controversy in the international academia. Domestic researches on GSCM focus mostly on the relevant concepts, contents, characteristics, and development strategies. However, few quantitative studies concentrate on the model designs and performance evaluations of GSCM.This thesis applies a quantitative method to determine whether GSCM promotes environmental performance and economic performance of an enterprise. It first analyzes the differences of traditional and modern evaluation methods of enterprise performances. Based on the comparative analyses, several enterprise performance evaluation methods are proposed and a performance evaluation index system is designed. Quantitative data are used to perform factor analysis in SPSS. Finally, a performance evaluation model is developed. The dissertation includes four chapters. In Chapter One, the necessity and task of the dissertation are explained such as the concept, content and development of GSCM. In Chapter Two, the method which integrates Analytic Hierarchy Process and factor analysis is put forward to identify the factors influencing the enterprise performance and design the enterprise performance index system in GSCM. Based on GSCM theory, performance evaluation index system hypothesizes are given under guidance of Chapter Two in Chapter Three. Then through the data analyzing and factors identifying, the hypotheses are rectified. At last, a performance evaluation model is structured by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. Chapter IV is a case study which demonstrates that environmental performance and economical performance can be improved through carrying our GSCM in enterprises. According to the above researches, research results are draw and the future research directions are proposed.
