Shenzhen's Modern Logistics Development Strategy Based On The Port The Core Study

The paper contains a study of the strategy of developing modern logistics which with the core of port at Shenzhen. Logistics industry is considered as the basic industry and one of the most important parts of GDP. The level of the logistics industry has become one of the standard of determining a country's comprehensive force. The development of logistics always connected with the development of port closely. The port plays a leading role in the logistics industry, with ability of collecting and distributing goods, and as a key node of logistic network. The development of logistics industry was established as one of the three backbore industry of Shenzhen in 2000. Shenzhen's logistics industry is consisted of international logistics, regional logistics and municipal logistics. International logistics has become the core of Shenzhen logistics and has played the leading role in the port development because of the characteristics of export-oriented economy.The first part of the paper introduces the following content such as definition and the value of logistics, the general development trend of port, the function of port in logistics system and the cause and the trance of logistics development, and as theory bases of the subject. The second part of the paper utilize AHP method to analyze the external circumstances and internal condition factors of Shenzhen logistics which with the core of port objectively. The third part use SWOT model, analyze from the opportunity, threatening, advantage, inferior position that sets out, draw SO, WO, ST, WT strategy combination. Based on current status, core competitive capability and prediction of development trend analysis, the strategic definition for developing Shenzhen logistics industry is reached: the structure of Shenzhen logistics is in three levels, that includes the logistics with the cores of international logistics, regional logistics and municipal logistics. As concerned as the development of international logistics, Shenzhen shall establish the international logistics system to meet the expending demand of multi-national companies. As for the development of regional logistics, Shenzhen shall set up the high-effectively transportation system, Shenzhen shall establishtimely municipal distribution system with high speed for the development of municipal logistics. The international logistics system plays a leading role in the structure of logistics industry. The cooperation of these three compositions is the key for developing Shenzhen logistics industry smoothly. Accordingly a program is suggested by the author, including the construction of logistics infrastructure and logistics information platform and the issue of logistics policy.
