Research On Nanjing Port Logistics Developing

The introduction and spread of the modern logistics in china has been causing physical distribution business (traditional goods transportation and storage business) reengineering. The modern logistics plays a very important role in promoting economic development. It has been well known as the third resource of profits and new growth point of the economy in the 21st century. How to turn the PD into the modern logistics and get the real profits from it is an important study tasks which all the Chinese logistics workers have to take. Focusing on Nanjing Port as a research and study object, the thesis tried to explore and research the answers to the problems that how to carry out modern logistics business effectively in Nanjing Port.The background and significance of the topic selection and the main points of the thesis, as well as the methods used for research are introduced in preface. In chapter one, the status and tendency of the development of the logistics in china and abroad are introduced, which can be taken as the example for developing logistics of Nanjing Port. In chapter two the environments for developing logistics both in and out of Nanjing Port are illustrated and the possible future of Nanjing Port in regards of developing logistics is described. In chapter three, the classification and quantity of goods to be expected to gather in Nanjing Port are analyzed, in consideration of the economic development situation and industrial construction of triangle- region of the Changjiang River and the local economical construction of Nanjing City. The forecasts of the throughput of containers for the year of 2005, 2010 and 2015 are also made in this chapter by means of setting up mathematic model. In chapter four by means of analyzing the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat (SWOT) for developing Nanjing Port logistics, some suggestion and policies are proposed for developing Nanjing port logistics. Last chapter is about the general goal, plan and detailed measures for developing Nanjing Port logistics, mainly including the followings: a suggestion named "Integrated construction model of developing port logistics" which is based on the theory of procedure optimizing and the theory of integrated resource program, the measures for logistics functional constructions and a port personnel team combination model of "four levels, three grades and nine aspects" .
