On The Feasibility Of Religious Reform In China

The existence of religion is a social, historical and cultural phenomenon. Many religions co-exist in China, and they have a momentous and far-reaching influence on the political, economic, social and cultural life of China.Reform is essential for the development of religions, especially in today China. Religion reform is not only the external demand of the socialist system, but also the necessity for the development of religion itself in the socialist society.Guided by Marxist fundamental theories of religion , CPC summarizes her practice in dealing with religious affair in the revolutionary period and the construction period of socialist, and brings forward the theories of steering religions to adapt positively to the socialist system, which refers to the administration of the religion affairs and the development of religions. In the adaptation to the socialist society, each religion has done much exploration in the fields of theology, doctrine and rite, system and so on, and has accumulates lots of experience in the reform. With the rapid development of the socialist society, religion reform becomes more and more urgent. Religions in China will be more harmonious with other social fields and play aindispensable role in the construction of socialist harmonious society by reform. New theology, religious practice system adapting to the modern socialist society should be put forward.This article will try to analyze the possibility and the practicability of religion reform in the area of the nature of religion, the history of religion, the state of the religions in China, the necessity of religion reform, conditions and contents of reform, problems ,etc. The author wish to give the religion administrators a train of thought, provide a point of view for personage in religion field. In addition, It will be my greatest satisfactory if my paper can shed light on how religion works for building the socialist harmony society.
