| The west of China is the region that falls behind relatively oneconomics in our country. The government always pays attention to thedevelopmemt of it, which is related to the level of national economy. Theposition of it in our country allows of no neglect. The west of China is rich of resources and land, but the developmentof it faces rigorous challenges. The strategy decision of the WestDevelopment expresses the attention of the government to the west.Because the area of the west is more than thirty percent in our country,the development of the west is related to not only itself, but also thesustained developing of the central and eastern region. No developing ofthe west, no promoting of the national economy. The development level of economic space is very unbalanced and thecondition of economy development is different obviously in the west. Soit needs economy center to push the developing peripheral region. As theregional economy center, the city is the advanced base of the westerneconomy. The Fifteenth Total Program about The West Developmentfrom State Department put forward definitely that we must carry out thestrategy of point to point with line and area to area with points. The pointis the city that can push the regional economy forward. The citieseconomy belt has gradually formed around several central cities, and it isthe developing center of economic space. There are some great citieseconomy belts in the world and we can draw lessons from them. With the Sanxia project beginning and Chongqing raising its class, theCheng-Yu cities economy belt has drawn on more and more concerns.The mention of the belt bases on the economic globalization, the districtgroup and the actual development of national economy. The belt is thepoint that the central region and west region connect with. And it is thecore power that can develop the upper region of the Changjiang River.There have been many articles and methods of researching the Cheng-Yucities economy belt. In my article, I mainly take the city as the point. Withthe mankind's civilization and social productivity developing, the city isstronger gradually and the scope of it is extending unprecedentedly. Thepoint of the world economy has been in city from in village. Thecompetitions between nations have become the competitions betweencities. The phenomenon about the cities belt is the result of competitionsbetween cities and only all the cities cooperate mutually, then they cantake part in the economy of the world. Actually the region of Cheng-Yu has a long history about cooperation.Chongqing has the advantage on transportation as the center of upperregion in the Changjiang River. As the center of finance, information andculture in Sichuan, Chengdu would like to be the support of the WestDevelopment. Another cities also have their special features respectively.On the other hand, because of the fluctuation in the administrativedistricts, the cities cannot communicate freely each other, which result inthe superfluous construction and waste of the resources. The reform andopening to the world and the West Development give us the chance tobuild the Cheng-Yu cities economy belt. We should hold the opportunityand fully make use of the growth pole to arouse the economy level in thecities belt. The paper is divided into four chapters: in the first chapter, I set forththe fundamental principles and the background. The second chapterfocuses on the analysis of the scope, characteristics, condition andmeaning of research subject. Chapter three analyzes the superiority andthe inferior position of the Cheng-Yu cities economy belt. Chapter four isbased on the anterior contents. The chapter points out the paths to solveall the problems. Because of the author's lack of knowledge and academic ability, thepaper has some weak points. The shortage of the time and documentsleads to the lack of deep analysis in some way. I wish the advises fromyou sincerely.
