China's Participation In The Guidelines Of The International System: China's Participation In The Apec Case Study

In the early 1990s, with the change of international structure and the advancement of China's reform and opening up, China has begun to take part in international institutions more and more comprehensively. Conventional institutions are an important component part of international institutions. APEC has been the only regional economic cooperation organization that China has participated in so far and this conventional international economic institution has exerted profound impact on China's economic power, diplomatic behavior and international image. And China has also made her own contribution to the institution construction of APEC. Thus the cooperation between China and APEC has exhibited comparatively high quality. It is safe to conclude from the case study of APEC that participating in conventional institutions has been of great significance for China's national development and international strategy.The paper is divided into four chapters. The preface briefly explains considerations of topic selection and the questions to be discussed. The first chapter introduces theoretical vehicles and approaches to be used in the process of analysis. The second chapter is on the general situation of APEC's development and the basic condition of China participating in APEC. The third chapter applies the theoretical vehicles and approaches introduced in the first chapter, together with the account of the general situation mentioned in the second chapter, to specifically analyze the quality of China and APEC's collaborative relations. The fourth chapter illustrates a good deal of inspiration for China participating in conventional institutions drawn from the case study of China participating in APEC.
