In the first place, the thesis explains the concept: the legal regulation of regional economy, and put forwards that the legal regulation of the regional economy is an effective way to make economy optimal.After that, the thesis analyses features and reasons of the legal regulation of the regional economy. Through researching the related clauses of laws under the framework of WTO, the thesis consider that multilateral laws generally tolerate and support legal regulation of the regional economy, but regulate the details of carrying out the regional economic laws overall. In spite of it, the legal framework of WTO also has some drawbacks.The NAFTA is a model of current legal regulation of the regional economy. After researches the contents of NAFTA, the thesis analyses the efficiency of the NAFTA, then prove that the free trade agreements or similar legal regulation are better choices for regional members with difference economy powers. The thesis also points out the useful experiences of the NAFTA.The thesis holds the view that China "four regions across the Straights" has own features under the framework of multilateral laws, so the special region that has four alone tariff areas in one country can create a new model of legal regulation of the regional economy. Then, the thesis advances the conception on the legal regulation and the constructive propositions of legal regulation that concerns many fields such as regional goods trade, service trade, investment, the dispute settlement and so on.Moreover, the thesis points out that China and ASEAN can sign regional free trade agreement. And the legal regulation of Sino-ASEAN economy should make full use of clauses of multilateral laws and experiences of other legal regulation of the regional economy, in order to enforce the agreement effectively.
