Culture is the original force of human being behavior. As world culture, Mazu culture is one of the popular religions in south-east coast of Fujian province, Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan Strait as well as south-east Asia. Mazu culture has a profound influence on these areas. Developing and propagating of Mazu culture will facilitate our country's peace and reunion, promote the world peace and culture communication and stimulate the local economic development as well.However, it is a pity that there are few researches about the development of Mazu tourism resources from tourismology point. By defining the main concepts of Mazu culture and its tourism resources, the dissertation probes the characteristic and further identifies its elements and development and protection strategy. With the application of the life cycle theory of tourism Product, the system theory, the culture ecology theory and regional tourism development theory, the dissertation summaries the status quo and problem of Mazu culture development. Based on the destination system theory, the dissertation analyzes and puts forward the elements of Mazu culture tourism attraction system. In addition, the dissertation also analyzes the internal and external tourism market and its orientation. However, the dissertation lays emphasis on studying the concepts of repeat visitation ratio, cumulative travel experience and threshold potential. Meanwhile it also studies the quantitymodel of tourism product life cycle. Using questionnaire and interview research method and technology itinerary, the dissertation makes an empirical study to Mazu case, which gives rise to the conclusion of its status in the curve of the product life cycle and puts forward some suggestions and institutions arrangement for product-transform and renewing the supply. In the end, the dissertation provides the framework of Meizhou Island's short-run and long-run developing plan.
