| The first seven years from the founding of New China (1949—1956) was a great success, in which people achieved a lot. Mao Tsedong Thought is based on China's actual conditions. It analyzes scientifically and succeeds in grasping the principal problem of the society. It also draws lessons from the theory and practice of Leninism in the aspect of the government and organization of the political proletariat party. Mao Tsedong Thought founds the ideological system about the government of the Communist Party of China. And it is the summary of the experience of the Chinese revolution and subsequent construction experience. It also opens new fields for Party to explore the laws concerning the government of the Party. The Mao Tsedong Thought, which is not a castle in air, is firmly based on the actual conditions of China, for example, for experience of the Chinese revolution, the complex situations both at home and broad, the fact that the Communist Party of China came in power.Mao Tsedong Thought includes mainly the following four aspects: (1) the basic political assurance is to strengthen people's democratic dictatorship; (2) the central task is to develop production; (3) the main condition is to improve the Party's own quality; (4) the basic aim is to serve the people wholeheartedly. And the Mao Tsedong Thought established in this period has five characteristics: initiativity, fundamentality, exploration, affinity to the people and practicality. It is because the Mao Tsedong Thought was formed in this early period of New China that it not only left us a rich legacy, it also has some problems: (1) solving the economic problem with the political means; (2) neglecting the institutional improvement; (3) dealing improperly with the relation between party and government. And it also has three lessons for us to learn. They include : (1) to focus on the central task of economic construction, and to look for the effective way of developing the productivity; (2) to strengthen the institutional improvement in order to make the different fields of social life; (3) to deal properly with the relation between party and government and to prevent the Party from interfering with the government. We should see its limits and analyze these limits scientifically. We should also summarize the experience and lessons deeply from it in order to make the Communist Party of China develop more smoothly. |
