Information Sharing In Supply Chain Management Research

Entering into the 21st century, the global economy becomes incorporate more rapidly. Along with our country joining the WTO, the home market will be opened to foreign enterprises completely, which have advanced management and great power. The local enterprises especially the small & medium businesses will be faced with flinty challenge.Supply chain management (SCM) is a sort of new manage model and method. Some famous foreign enterprises have gained obvious effects in supply chain management. They build strategic fellowship with their suppliers, clients and other cooperators. Sharing with respectively strong ability, they can knock down the cost of the whole supply chain and improve their competitiveness.From the angle of facing application, this paper researches that how to realize the information sharing in SCM and then coordinates the operation of the whole supply chain and realizes the aim of SCM. Firstly, the writer introduces the concepts of supply chain and SCM, analyses the structure models, characteristics and two different operational models of the supply chain, and makes a discussion about the background of the generation of SCM, and makes a comparison between the traditional management model and SCM. On the basis of deep analysis on the problems and challenges in the operational practice of SCM, the writer introduces information sharing into the theme of this paper. Then, the author analyses the types and characteristics of information flow in the supply chain. On the basis of analysis to the information sharing model that put forward by other researchers, the author puts forward a new structure model of information sharing - Core Enterprises Managed Model (CEMM), and then discusses its operation, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. According to the characteristics of small & medium businesses, the author suggests that it'sbetter for small & medium businesses to choose CEMM in the operational practice of SCM. This achievement has not been found in documents collected by the author. In chapter 4, the writer puts forward the Supply Chain Management Information Sharing System based on the Core Enterprise Managed Model (CEMM-SCM-ISS), researches its architecture and makes a simple design to its managed system and discusses the framework of information integration based on XML/Web Services and discusses information security. In the last, according to the practical enterprise investigation and relevant research jobs on information system, the author makes a case study about information sharing in the SCM.Supply chain management is an effective management pattern. It improves the competitive power of the local enterprises. It is very important for the successful operation of the SCM to achieve the information sharing and to raise the level of information sharing within the enterprises in the supply chain.
