On Zhou Enlai's Peace And Development

This dissertation focuses on Zhou Enlai' Peace and Development Thought. The dissertation discusses about the producing background, shaping courses, theoretical foundation , content system of and historical status the thought respectively. This thesis, that adopts the thinking manner combining the static-state analysis with dynamic observing manner for the investigation object, pays attention to summarizing and surveying Zhou's Peace & Development Thought from New China's diplomatic practices, and tries to integrate the history and the argumentum, to educe the argumentum from the historical events. This thesis believes the producing background and the causation of Zhou's Peace and Development Thought were the hard international environments at the beginning of New China and the strategic considering results of Chinese Communist Party to improve China's international place. The mainly theoretical root of the thought was Marxism, and it was also benefited by China's traditional culture and Zhou's particular living experiences. "Keep harmony with others but be singleness of mind" was the philosophical foundation of this thought. The thoughts have extensive knowledge and profound scholarship. This content system included as follows: trying to keep peaceful was the important precondition of development; peaceful coexistence was the basic principle when pursuing peace; seeking common ground while reserving differences was the guideline of achieving the purpose of peace; developing the international united front actively was the main strategy to make the peace true; the Four Modernizations were the centralized embodiment of the development thought. The thought came from the practices and in reverse instructed New China's diplomatic practices which included establishing the independently peaceful diplomatic policies, being against the hegemonism in order to keep the world in peace, conquering the hostile and confining polices of USA; trying to solve the problems of Taiwan and Hong Kong with peaceful methods; establishing and pursuing the striving purposes of modernizations. NewChina's diplomatic practices acquired the great effects: guaranteed the peaceful development of China and the world, promoted China to make progress. The history showed that Zhou's Peace & Development has important theory values and practical guidance significances. It not only was the important composing parts of Mao Zedong Thoughts, but settles the important theoretical foundation stones for Deng Xiaoping Theory. It was also the forerunner and index of the "Peaceful Growing-up" theory in modern China.
