Extradition is a way of international criminal legal assistance with a long history,which can date back to old Egypt. In the process of modern extradition developing,some basic principles have formed i.e. the principle of non-extradition of politicaloffences, the principle of non-extradition of death penalty, the principle of doublecriminality etc. These principles nowadays still play an important role in extradition.However, with the development of new situations in the international society, forexample territorialism, traditional extradition system has not met the need ofpunishing transnational crimes, therefore some treaties and conventions have revisedthese principles to some degree, although traditional extradition principles have notbeen rejected, but the international society including China should pay attention to thechange of traditional extradition. The thesis will analyze the development ofextradition and offer some suggestions on how to face these changes in China.
