After the Second World War, the strength of the United States has been becoming more powerful, and its influence also has been working on the all of the world. The involvement of the United States makes complicated issues more unascertainable. But at same time, it also brings new opportunities and challenges to them.In order to analyze the US policy evolution on the regional cooperation of East Asia, we state this part in three stages by history and logic approaches; then on the basis of previous analysis, we can hold the trend of US policy on the regional cooperation of East Asia on the whole. After that, the forecast of the US role in the regional cooperation of East Asia can be drawn out through realistic discuss about strength and interests of the United States. Finally, based on these judges, this article analyzes the positive and negative influences of US policy on the regional cooperation of East Asia in the new century. This is a basic clue of framework of the whole article.First, this article summarizes the US policy evolution on the regional cooperation of East Asia after the World War II. This evolution consists of three phases. The Stage I: from the World War II to 1981 (when Ronald Wilson Reagan came into power). During this period, the US policy on the regional cooperation of East Asia is suspiciousness or even denial. The stage II: from 1981 to the end of the Cold War. At this stage, the US in general supported the regional cooperation of East Asia from the gradual acceptance to active participation. The Stage III: after the Cold War - till now. During this period, the US policy is participation and trying to play an active role in the process of regional corporation development.Secondly, the article analyzes the role of the US policy on the East Asia regional corporation. Based on the interests and the strength of US in East Asia, it is rational and inevitable for the US to be involved in the regional cooperation of East Asia. Although the multilateralism which is put forwards is the most ideal form, but over the long term, the United States will not abandon old security concept and will still focus on building a bilateral alliance, the balance of checks and unilateralism, so that it finally will build up a multilateral framework, which is in line with American interests, and play a leading role in East Asia.
