On September 11 After Nato's Strategic Transformation Characteristics And Its Prospects

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO)has turned into the most conspicuous military alliance in the post·Cold War era with the collapse of the Warsaw Treaty Organization.In the following ten years,the organization has been subjected to strategic transformation . The period since the 9 / 11 incident has especially witnessed the new reforms and changes of NATO . In light of the deepening character of"globalization"of NATO'S strategies and moves and the expansion of its influence,the study of NATO'S strategic transformation and new development trends is of actual significance.In this paper,the organization'establishment and its readjustments in the ten years immediately following the end of the Cold War are briefly reviewed in the first place.Its new adjustments and new changes following the 9/11 incident are then focused as the main part of the paper.In the conclusion part,the author summarizesthe organization's tendency at the present stage and makes relevant theoretical analyses and predictions,focusing on its three summit conferences.
