The Northeastern Asian area is an important place where the strategicbenefits of the four big countries, America, Japan, Russia, and Chinameets and crashes. Because of its prominent strategic position and specialgeopolitical environment, the Korean Peninsula has become the core of thisarea. Therefore, the Korean Peninsula problem will definitely attract thewide attention of the international community.(After the Cold War, as North Korea developed Weapons of MassDestruction WMD), especially on July, 2006, when North Korea tried to sendmissiles, the Korean missile problem again became the focuses of theinternational community. And what' s more, the problem is becoming moreand more complex and serious because of its direct and close relationshipwith its nucleus problem. As one of the most important aspects of theKorean Peninsula problems, the Korean missile problem is not only theproblem between North Korea and America, but also a world-wide problemwhich concerns the great benefit of peripheral big countries. Each bigcountry will not let any other big counties occupy the absolute advantageson the Korean Peninsula. Neither can any big country itself undertake allthe important security problems of the Korean Peninsula and even of thenortheastern Asian area. In a word, the Korean missile problem is animportant factor which influences the security and stabilization of theKorea Peninsula and even of the Northeastern Asian area.Taking the world-wide missile problem as its background, the thesisprovides complete arrangement and investigation of the Korean missileproblem and the Northeastern Asian security problem from general tospecific. And it gives systematic analysis and research concerning aboutthe world-wide problem caused by the Korea missile problem in order toprovide a clear recognition of the essence of this problem and itsinfluence on the security of the Northeastern Asian area. Thus, the basicarrangement of the thesis is as follows:The first chapter is the introduction which mainly gives a generalexposition of the purpose, the present state, and the methods of thesub iect research. The second concerns about the world-wide missile problem and therelative systems. From different aspects, such as the general situation ofthe world missile weapons, the situation of the missile proliferation andthe systems, it gives specific analysis and investigation, providing abasis for the further spreading of the subject.The third provides specific analysis and research of the Korean missileproblem. It mainly contains the development condition of the Koreanmissiles, the purpose of its development, the cause and effect of theKorean missile problem and the world-wide problem caused by this problem.Among them, the analysis of the world-wide problem caused by the Koreanmissile problem is the focus of the chapter and also the most importantpoint of the thesis.The focus of the forth chapter is on the essence of the Korean missileproblem. On the basis of the specific analysis of the security situationof the Northeastern Asian area, the responses of the peripheral bigcountries to the problem, and the essence of the problem, combining withthe analysis of the chapter three, this chapter expatiates upon theinfluence of the problem on the security of the Northeastern Asian area.On the basis of the above chapters, the fifth chapter analyzes theprobability of resolution of the problem in a peaceful way, and providesthe ways of resolution.The sixth chapter is the conclusion. It gives further generalizationand emphasis of the essence of the problem and the security of theNortheastern Asian area so as to provide a better recognition of thepresent situation and promote the peace and stabilization of theNortheastern Asian area.
