Including the formationand the development of the US-South Korea missile relations,Especially the signing of “theUS-South Korea missile agreement” in1979and the modification of this agreement in2001.Certainly,the current stuation of the relations are more important part to discuss:Afterthe first modification of this agreement,South Korean has done more by all means to developits missile technology until the US agreed to extend the missile range again in2012.Toproceed From this point, the thesis will discuss the reason for America to agree the significantmodification and significance of the missile range——“800km” for the US and South Korea. Also,Whether it’s only a signal of readjustment of the US military strategy in Northeast Asiaor it can be a reflection of the US rebanlancing strategy will be discussed.Further,we will payclose attention to the influence of the modification on northeast Asia:Regional powers’security claims are so strong that this modification may spark an arms race in this region.Inthis case, what have Russia,Japan and the DPRK said for this event?how will they cope withthe situation?Above all,What China can do to respond to missile threat around itself andstabilize the regional situation is the the end result of this thesis. It contains some proposals:first, Strengthening "internal strength"in military is the fundamental method for China to easeit’s peripheral theat;second, Can six-party talk still be an effective way for China to constrainNorth Korea? If not,how will China change the realistic logic to the institutionalframework? This is also a long-term and hard project for all countries in this region and atentative discussion on the formation of the multilateral security mechanism in northeastAsia. We will mainly discuss the possibility and feasibility of the formation of themechanism.
