Traditional Chinese Filial Piety Study

The traditional culture of china, in a sense , can be called culture of filial piety, the traditional society of china is based on filial piety especially. Among traditional Chinese society and culture, the filial piety not only has the root vital role but also has his extensive comprehensive meaning of culture. China's traditional filial piety which is regarded as the primary, comprehensive important component of China's traditional culture , has gone through the historical process from forming ,development, advocating, variation, flourish and decline to the rheology course of flowing rhythm known, reorientated in modern times.As a superstructural part, traditional filial piety's emergence and variation depends on the economic development of the society and the political state of society determined by economy in the long run. So, we can ponder over the traditional filial piety from three aspects. On the one hand, have announced from the angle of real and right history that the essence of the filial piety is love, and is devided into three levels in its long development: from familial ethics to social ethics and finally to political ethics; On the other hand, standing on Marxism position, scrutinize its historical value with the attitude of the materialist conception of history and affirm that it has played an important role and exerted a far-reaching influence in keeping social order, harmonic family, developing social economy, affecting national character, social security, culture to influence China and so on; Finally, using the reason of philosophy to analyze, treat the modern society and make the transition dialectically to the impact in the filial piety way rationally, the change of the social economic base thereupon causes the change of the social relationships, the change of family's structure, the change of the family's function and the change of position in social life, the system making the traditional filial piety's inherent system and social key position are broken. Just stand broken, so this is exactly alunite of phoenix of traditional filial piety, the beginning of moving towards the new life.Reviewing history is favorable to the contemporary practice. In economy goes through transition, the society makes the transition, plural culture blends today colliding, the traditional filial piety has been too obvious not to meet the needs of modern social development, so we must carry on modern ethics reconstruction. We need dialogue but soly respect, need rejuvenation but restoring ancient ways, should reconstruct but construct separately, play the role of cultural resource well but pursue the leading position of culture. Following the foundations of these four basic principles, from three aspects as familial ethics, social ethics, political ethics put traditional filial piety under modern visual field to reconstruct and give appropriate ethical definition, construct new pattern of filial piety and give its eraintension of the times,realize creative conversion and development.
