Junichiro Koizumi, elected Japanese prime minister in April 2001, has become the third"longevity prime minister"more than 60 years after World War II. His government has also become in power longer than any other government since Tanaka Kakuei government, which was established in July 1972. Besides, he has renovated several records in the Japanese political arena: First person growing after World War II and seize the highest authority and political power; First unmarried prime minister; Simultaneously recognized as most graceful Japanese prime minister throughout history. Koizumi is born in the year of horse, while he behaves actually like a wolf. He is always a little bit of rebel, and he will not listen to any critical opinion. He would not work together with any person who has different opinions. He would do anything he thought must, and not think over others. He is sophism to his fingers. However, he actually approved by all Japanese. On April 24, 2001, Junichiro Koizumi was elected as the 20th President of Liberal Democratic Party by an absolute superiority, and is in office as Japanese prime minister on April 26. Afterwards, Japanese news medias immediately have carried on the poll to the support rate of Koizumi cabinet. The investigation result indicated, Asahi Shimbun has 78%, the lowest; and The Daily Yomiuri reaches as high as 87.1%. On September 2, 2006, The Japanese The Daily Yomiuri Press announces a network poll: Among all Japanese postwar prime ministers, who attains the most support and who is think better of? Junichiro Koizumi is the second by 41% support rate, which only inferior to Shigeru Yoshida who leaded Japan to go out the postwar chaotic condition and concluded"the San Francisco Peace treaty". Tanaka Kakuei is merely the third by 36% support rate, which realized the diplomatic normalization between Chinese and Japanese."Koizumi phenomenon"appears in Japan at the turn of 20th century, and has profound political, economical, historical and the social environment roots. This article attempts to find the roots of"Koizumi phenomenon", and tries to give an systematic analyse and discussion to its influence upon the relation between China and Japan. The article altogether divides into four parts: The first part is a summary of"Koizumi phenomenon". In this part, the author mainly introduces that Koizumi's support rate has stayed at a high level in the political arena, his power politics in the political pattern, and his continuing as Japanese prime minister for five years and continuously visit to the Yasukuni Shrine six times. The second part attempts to attain the reasons of"Koizumi phenomenon". It mainly elaborates Japanese domestic political, the economical, the military and the historical reason with an emphasis; Changing of the international pattern after the Cold War and its formidable worries to China; and Koizumi's personal disposition and his political orientation. The third part elaborates the influence of"Koizumi phenomenon"to the Chinese and Japanese relation. As Koizumi applied power and conservative policy, the Chinese and Japanese relation has come under the enormous influence: It has deepened the former conflict, damaged both countries'original cooperation, and raised nationality opposition mood in both countries. As a result, the Chinese and Japanese relations are"political and economical relations are both serious cold and not lively", the inter-country' high-level meeting cut off.The fourth part proposes some of my opinions that may help people overcome their difficulties in understanding the Chinese and Japanese relation. For in stance, we should face the existence of Japan; Second, we should correctly treat the national present situation of Japan; Finally, try our best to cooperate with Japan and maintain the peace and stability in East Asia.
