Soul of the country lies in morality. The citizen's moral construction is no doubt a process of carrying on the construction of a nation's spiritual engineering. It can not only promote the citizen's quality of life, but also can improve human's whole quality and promote one's full-scale development. The citizen's moral standard can reflect the degree of a nation's social civilization. China lies in the historical period of developing and perfecting socialistic marketing system and building a harmonious society. Harmony and development are the main tasks of our society. At present, we have made great achievements in socialistic career and people's living conditions improved rapidly. Chinese people are confident with the construction of a harmonious society. In the meantime, we would find that people's spiritual life obviously has not improved with the improvement of their material life. On the contrary, a series of moral problems actually appeared.The Chinese characteristic socialistic society that we would build is not only a society with great progress in natural life, moreover, it's a harmonious socialist society that coordinated the development of the material civilization and the spiritual civilization. Therefore, the social moral condition can't satisfied the remarkable achievements in economic development This contrast caused the moral construction to be an extremely urgent realistic problem.The passage analyzes the necessity of moral constructions according to its background. The new moral system must be humanist, from the moral's original meaning, characteristics of human essence and the speciality of the new centurial human society, follows the principle of humanity , the innovative principle and the principle of advantageous and continuous development of human society. It also encourages people to pursue enjoyment , to obey the rules that individual unifies with the society, to know the principle that moral should communicate with law and the principle that personal interest should be equal with the social benefit. We should speed up the pace of moral construction by means of schooling, establishing the new moral sense, promoting people's moral standard and enlarging the force of moral punishment.The moral construction of harmonious socialist society is not an easy thing and it's a long-term process. Meanwhile, we should also see it involves in the democracy, the legal system, many aspects and so on, and whatever aspect has problem may affect its results. We should improve the whole nation's cultivation of ethic thought and promote the social harmony in the process of advancing the moral construction of harmonious socialism society.
