There are many conflicts about farmers' benefits when we build up a socialist harmonious society and new countryside. The stabilization of countryside becomes the vane of the whole country. As the main part of politics, farmers play a more important role in the political construction. As the edge of the country's power, Chinese countryside attracts more attention. The problem of farmers was once the key point of Chinese revolution. Now it is the main problem of modernization drive. With the open policy, the economy develops fast in the countryside, and once more, ideology and notion of the farmers have also changed. The social conflicts take upon in the countryside modernization. The decentralization of state power from society conflicts with the centralization of state power from country. The increase of farmers' politics demands conflict with the deficiency of public products supply. The increase of farmers' democracy conflicts with the traditional notions. It is very important to discuss the causes, phenomena and methods of the conflicts to maintain stabilization. This essay takes Shanghai Chongming as an example to supply a background that farmers realize modernization and become more independent. In this way, I analyze forms and ways of farmers' political participation. I research on economy, system and culture of countryside to look for the ways to good governance and democracy. As I analyze this example, I want to show that more political participation for farmers better democratic development.
