Basing on the research achievements of precursors, this paper states clearly about the historical process of the relations between China and America, and analyzes the breakout in Sino-American relations around 1960s and 1970s discussing its historical background, deeper reasons and etc.. Since from the end of 1960s, Sino-American relations had experienced so called "fighting and cooperation" events several times containing the effort of Kenney Government and "Sino-US Joint Communique" distributed by Nixon during the visit to China in 1972 which is regarded as the end of insulation in Sino-American relations and the beginning of friendly relations. However, the issue of Taiwan and the change of American diplomatic policy towards China made the relations between China and America go into a dilemma. After President Nixon retired, President Ford reconciled form the Taiwan Issue and until President Carter had assumed, the program of normalization in Sino-American relations commenced again. By the end of 1978, China and the USA had established diplomatic relations and distributed "Joint Communique of the United States of America and the People's Republic of China", and in January 1st, 1979 the two countries established diplomatic relations formally. This paper examines and concludes the relationship between China and America systematically and objectively in order to predict the trend of Sino-American relations in the future. Meanwhile, this paper will provide some advice in how to continue protecting and developing the relations with other countries in the world.
