The conflicts also damaged the interests of African people, and hampered African economic development and integration process seriously. The direct causes of these conflicts varied and the number of the countries involved differed. Historical problems left by the Colonialist domination in Africa (such as the artificial demarcation of the borders by western colonizers), ethnic groups divided by the border, racism and other factors led to border conflicts.Organization of African Unity, the African Union and the international community have made considerable efforts and provided favorable conditions for the solutions of the border conflicts. For the African countries, resolving the border issues through peaceful means is their best choice. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Border Conflicts in Africa, colonialism, artificial boundary | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
