Ideological Foreign Policy After The Cold War

The Cold War was a war of no smoke. During the Cold War, ideology had became an standards that for international adoption of a foreign strategy. Ideological diplomacy had became a tool that for US and the Soviet Union contend for world hegemony and seek the national interest. However, With the end of the Cold War, the ideological diplomacy showed a relatively weak trend in the field of foreign affairs, but this can not change ideological diplomacy's strengthened in real terms. Because of the two social systems and ideological confrontation still exists objectively, therefore, the ideological diplomacy still plays an important role in the field of international relations after cold war.Based on this, this paper try to study the ideological diplomacy in the field of international relations after the Cold War, this paper is divided into five parts. The first defines the ideological diplomacy and analyse its role in the international relations. The second part analyse the reasons for the relative weakening of ideological diplomacy after the Cold War, Since the disintegration of the bipolar structure, the growing trend of economic globalization and political multi-polarization, some socialist countries play down the ideological orientation color in the diplomatic representatives, the ideological diplomacy shows relatively weak representation after the Cold War. The third part points out the global confrontation between the two systems still exist, the western countries still retain the Cold War mentality. Therefore, the true nature of the ideological diplomacy is strengthened, and discusses the three main forms. The fourth part analyse the features of ideological diplomacy after Cold War, and give the prospects for future development trend of ideological diplomacy. The last part discusses face of the ideology diplomacy of post-Cold War, China's diplomatic measures should be taken.In summary, the main point of this thesis is:In the post-Cold War, because of some factors affect, the ideological diplomacy showed a relatively weak trend in the field of foreign affairs, but this can not change ideological diplomacy's strengthened in real terms. As weakening is only symptoms of ideological diplomacy after the Cold War, while strengthening is the true nature of ideological diplomacy after the Cold War. Facing with the Western countries'"peaceful evolution" by the forms of "human rights diplomacy" and "democratic diplomacy" and "new interventionism". We must always be vigilant, and pay more attention to the ideological competition and new ways of "peaceful evolution". What is more, we should also uphold and consolidate the guiding position of Marxism, strengthening the socialist ideology, in order to against the "peaceful evolution".
