The Party's Anti-corruption Construction

The success or failure of combating corruption and upholding integrity re-lates to CPC's life and death. Focusing on combating corruption and upholding integrity effectively is of great significance to improving our party's governing a-bilities and consolidating the party's ruling status. The report to the Seven-teenth National Congress of CPC focuses on improving the institutions for pun-ishing and preventing corruption to strength combating corruption and uphold-ing integrity. The Seventeenth National Congress's Fourth Plenary Session of CPC proposes further "attach greater importance to combating corruption and upholding integrity, fight corruption in a comprehensive way, address both its symptoms and root cause and combine punishment with prevention, with the emphasis on prevention, implement the responsibility system for improving the Party's style of work and upholding integrity strictly, while resolutely cracking down on corruption, intensify the education, supervision, reform, institutional innovations, prevent corruption more effectively, continuously make new a-chievements in the struggle against corruption." Since the reform and opening up, China's domestic and oversea situation has undergone great changes, in the new historical period, we should start at the strategic perspective of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and creating a new situation of so-cialism with Chinese characteristics, understand the importance and urgency of combating corruption and upholding integrity profoundly. We should make a next construction of combating corruption and upholding integrity with the guidance of the spirit of the Seventeenth National Congress of CPC and the Sev-enteenth National Congress's Fourth Plenary Session of CPC.This thesis is composed by the introduction and five parts of the body. The introduction clarifies the importance of the construction of combating corruption and upholding integrity in the high degree that it relates to the life and death of the Party and the country; illustrates the structural arrangements of the thesis. Firstly, this part mainly explains the concept of corruption and the concept of integrity, analyses the harm of corruption to the state and society. Secondly, this part mainly explains the importance and necessity of our party to combat corruption and uphold integrity in the new period in four aspects:Strengthen combating corruption and upholding integrity is the fundamental requirements of upholding the Party's nature and purpose; Strengthen combating corruption and upholding integrity is a necessary requirement of building socialism with Chinese characteristics; Strengthen combating corruption and upholding integ-rity is a necessary requirement of promoting reform and opening up further in-depth; Strengthen combating corruption and upholding integrity is the urgent need of further advancing the work of building the Party's style of work and in-tegrity and combating corruption in the new period. Thirdly, this part illus-trates the Party's initiatives and ideas of combating corruption and upholding in-tegrity in different history periods, recalls the course of combating corruption and upholding integrity in the 80 years history of the Communist Party of Chi-na, summarizes the historical experience of our party combating corruption and upholding integrity in the more eighty years. Fourthly, this part combines the specific conditions in our country, summarizes the current features of corrup-tion in our country, analyses the reasons for the phenomenon of corruption in our party in the new era. Fifthly, this part with the guidance of the spirit of the Seventeenth National Congress of CPC and the Seventeenth National Congress's Fourth Plenary Session of CPC, puts forward the ideas and strategies of comba-ting corruption and upholding integrity in the new period from the three aspects of education, system, and supervision.
