The Rise Of A Large Country India's National Image Building

The national Image is the overall understanding and evaluation of one country against another in the aspects such as political, economic, social and cultural .it is also an important component of soft power. as the interdependence among countries is getting higher and higher , building a good national image has a special meaning to each country. Especially for the rising great powers, to the rising great power, a good national image can not only reduce the possibility of the countering containment, but also enhance this country's international status. Under the background of the interdependence getting deepen and the international politics socialization, all countries must adapt request of the international politics civilization, contact with other nations according to the rules, realize its strength growth in the maintenance of the present international power situation and in the world order arrangement frame, diligently deal with the cooperation coexistence relations with the extant international leading power, and cultivate international identity. As a rising power ,India attached great importance to its national image, this paper is try to introduce India `s national image building strategy from the division of labor, cultural diplomacy, the policy on overseas Indians, military exchanges, non-governmental diplomacy, so that we Chinese can get lesson from India.This paper is divided into five chapters,The first chapter introduces the topics of significance in this paper, status, and the main ideas and methods .Chapter II defines the concept of "national image", characteristics, and discuss the relationship between "national image" and "soft power" and discuss the importance of the national image for the rising power. The third chapter is the main part of this article, analyzed India's national image building strategy. In Chapter four we will rethinking India` s National Image building strategy and analyze its strengths and weaknesses .in the last chapter ,we will make an evaluation to India's national image strategy.
