People are gradually paying more attention to international image in recent years. It is a comprehensive understanding and evaluation that refers to a country's external public confidence in the politics, economy, society, culture and natural elements. It is an important part of the national image, the"soft power"in international politics and the most important intangible assets of state sovereignty. International image largely determines a country's status and influence in the international arena. Credibility of a country's international image as the symbol, are playing an increasingly important role, for a country to implement its international strategy and ultimately achieve their strategic goals. In today's international community, countries have begun to pay great attention to their international image and enhance its image in all directions through various means. Regarding India's international image research, there is no specialized works, only a few scattered in a newspaper article. This paper attempts to history, a practical angle, summed up the objective of independent India's international image. We hope to be able to show a comprehensive, rational, scientific evaluation, and India in process of shaping the image gives a number of thinking for us. Through after the Indian independence the international image transformation with the reason and the influence analysis which remolds, proposed India sets up the new image the home and the international aspect restriction factor, set up the image to our country to bring the model significance. Finally this article proposed that our country should be from own economic development, the political democracy, the national quality, the cultural propaganda, the diplomatic channel and so many aspects to begin, to set up peace, the development, the democracy, the civilized responsible great nation image. We believe that China and India all have the bright prospects for development under the correct specific policies, the 21st century will be belong to China and India which are the two great developing nations.
