Content:In the last few years, along with the rapid development of the economy and the unceasing progress of the society, the divorce rate in our country is on the rise. In addition, because of the death from illness and other factors, the students living in single- parent family account for a considerable proportion on the whole. These students, whether in learning, discipline and even in the conduction have a big difference with the students living in the integrity of the family. The most obvious performance of the students in single-parent home in school is that they do not form good study habits, which led to a number of unsatisfactory academic performance As we all know, the cultivation of good study habits plays a vital role for students in the future learning and development, while the primary school stage is the golden age of developing learning habits, and each of our educators has an obligation and responsibility to help those students in single-parent families develop good study habits. This study is based on the first study and I take 50 students in single- parent families among 300 students of grade 5 and grade 6 in Dalian's two primary schools as the research object. I adopt questionnaires, interviews and case analysis to analyze the status and the reasons for the lack of good study habits of students from single-parent families. And from the aspects of family education and school education, I have some recommendations on how to let children living in single parent families cultivate good learning habits. The study found: the single-parent families always have more or less the issues as " unstable living environment", "lack of educational function," or "educational failure". Parents have not done enough on the management of their children's learning, which leads that many students in single-parent families have a more serious deficiencies of learning habits in classroom and work habits after school.A lot of psychologists and educators have made many surveys and research on the students in single-parent families. This study is based on the campus, and is dedicated to improve the study habits of these students, improve their academic performance and lay the foundation for the students'future learning.
